<Tanja Estate>
Tanja Estate is a farm located in the highlands adjacent to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a World Heritage site, on the western slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. Established in 1953, OSTI Co., part of the AAIC Group, took over its operation as a new owner in 2023.
The name "TANJA" is derived from "Tanzania" and "Japan," with several Japanese staff members regularly present. While promoting local employment and infrastructure development, the estate is committed to sustainable community building and high-quality coffee production, under the "Smart Village Project."
<Environment in Harmony with Nature>
The farm is located in a rich natural environment where elephants and buffalo roam, blessed with mineral-rich soil and a cool climate. Coffee cultivated at high altitudes of 1,400 to 1,800m is characterized by rich flavor and clean taste.
Of the total area of approximately 1,700ha, about 260ha are used as coffee farms, and facilities such as water supply systems and reservoirs are also maintained. In addition to coffee, avocados and macadamias are cultivated, supporting significant local employment.
<Processing and Management>
Tanja Estate also focuses on improving the accuracy of ripe cherry harvesting, training pickers while recording their harvesting status. Harvested cherries are transported to the washing station on the same day for careful sorting and processing.
After pulping, fermentation takes place overnight, followed by washing and soaking before being moved to drying tables. Drying slowly for about 10 days ensures a uniform and clean quality.
